Description of Extension and Research Interests

Dr. Ryman’s extension interests are focused on assisting dairy cattle producers with strategies to maximize mammary health and milk quality. Dr. Ryman works with dairy producers and stakeholders in Georgia to reduce mammary disease (i.e., mastitis) in dairy cattle and its associated health and economic impacts through on-farm evaluations and consultations, hands-on workshops, seminars, and extension publications. Dr. Ryman also maintains an applied research program in this area to train both undergraduate and graduate students in dairy cattle science and extension activities, as well as, explore techniques that can be directly implemented on dairy operations.
