ADS Facilities
The animal and dairy science department has modern facilities for housing swine, sheep, beef cattle, dairy cattle, horses, and laboratory animals on both the Athens and Tifton campuses, and a beef research unit in Eatonton.
ADS on the Tifton Campus
The beef cattle center at the Coastal Plain Experiment Station in Tifton, Ga., consists of a 250 cow operation with feedlot and metabolism facilities. The dairy cattle center at UGA-Tifton includes flush-clean main barns accommodating 200 cows.
Livestock Arena
The Livestock Instructional Arena provides the facilities and environment for superior educational programs for ADS. Visit the calendar and reservation website for the Livestock Arena.
Meat and Science Technology Store
The Meat Science and Technology Center (MSTC) is a fully functional meat animal processing facility that is federally (USDA) inspected. The main purpose of the MSTC is to facilitate teaching, outreach and research education in the areas of meat animal production, meat science, and muscle biology.
