UGA Students Explore Agriculture in Uruguay

During spring break 2025, seventeen students from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences traveled to Uruguay for the International Agribusiness of Diversified Livestock and Grain Production study abroad program. Led by Dr. Stelzleni, Dr. Secor, and Dr. Bruno Lanfranco, students explored Uruguay's rich agricultural landscape while gaining insight into global trade, sustainability, and livestock production. This immersive experience deepened their understanding of international agribusiness and the cultural importance of agriculture in South America.

Spain

Exploring Agriculture and Culture in Spain

In June 2025, nineteen students within and outside the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences participated in the Spain: Food Production, Culture and the Environment study abroad program in Barcelona and Girona. This immersive two-week experience introduced students to Spanish agricultural systems, environmental science, and traditional food production practices. Highlights included site visits focused on olive production, sheep cheese production, and wine production. Interactive lectures and cultural excursions throughout north-eastern Spain, including the 144-year-old Sagrada Familia, served as the classroom for these lucky students.
