The purpose of the fellowship is to support top doctoral students in their research related to animal nutrition and health. Recipients will be selected from students in a wide range of schools and colleges conducting basic and applied research in animal health in such areas as agriculture and veterinary medicine, and well as emerging fields.

Post Doc, Fernando Bussiman, presented his research at the American Society of Animal Science Meeting in Calgary in July. His research presentation was entitled, "GxE with high-dimensional environmental data: correlated herd effects."
 
He also gave the same presentation in Italy in September at the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP).

Masum Billah presented his research at the American Society of Animal Science Meeting in Calgary in July. His research presentation was entitled, "Low-cost machine learning algorithms to predict growth and carcass traits in pigs."

 

Masum was also awarded the Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) Student Conference Travel Award to attend ASAS24.

Selected for UGA Future Faculty Fellowship
The Future Faculty Fellows Program (3FP), sponsored jointly by the Graduate School and the Center for Teaching and Learning, is a year-long professional development program that brings together 15 innovative teaching assistants from across campus to talk about, and improve their teaching, while contributing to their preparation for the academic job market and the rigors of their first faculty positions.
 

Also, Morgan was runner-up for the NSF CMaT (Cell Manufacturing Technologies) 3-Minute Thesis Competition.
