Regenerative Bioscience Open House: A Huge Success!

On December 7th, we proudly hosted our first Open House for the Regenerative Bioscience Undergraduate Major, and it was a resounding success! The event was well attended by high school students, their families, and teachers, who were all warmly welcomed by our dedicated Regenerative Bioscience faculty at the UGA Animal and Dairy Science Department.

This Open House provided a fantastic opportunity for potential students to explore the exciting research happening in our labs and engage in hands-on learning experiences. All labs participating in the program across UGA were represented, showcasing the amazing work being done in the field of regenerative bioscience.

The major is rapidly growing, with enrollment increasing from 52 undergraduates in Fall 2023 to 84 undergraduates in Fall 2024. We look forward to continuing to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists in this dynamic and impactful field.

Highlights from the BRTF Annual Meeting

The Beef Reproduction Task Force (BRTF) hosted their annual meeting, Applied Reproductive Strategies for Beef Cattle, in Athens this year. The event brought together over 200 attendees, including producers, veterinarians, and industry professionals, from 25 different states. This year's meeting was a resounding success, offering a platform for attendees to share knowledge, discuss innovative practices, and collaborate on advancing the field of beef reproduction.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in insightful presentations, hands-on workshops, and networking sessions aimed at enhancing reproductive strategies and practices within the beef cattle industry. The diverse range of topics covered ensured that there was something valuable for everyone, regardless of their specific role within the industry.

We are grateful to all who attended and contributed to the success of the meeting. Together, we are driving the future of beef reproduction and ensuring this vital industry's continued growth and success. Our department is especially proud of our faculty, staff, and graduate students who worked so hard to host this successful event.
