UGA's Meat Judging Team

 
MeatDawgs team travels across the country multiple times throughout the year to compete against other universities and colleges in the Intercollegiate Meat Judging Contests. They are given the opportunity within these contests to evaluate beef, pork, and lamb based on quality and yield to establish value. On these trips, students are given the opportunity to see the ins and outs of the meat science industry by making connections with other students, industry professionals, and academic personnel.
 
Currently, they are getting ready to head out to Garden City, Kansas for the Beef Empire Day's Meat Judging Contest. Watch for the results in our upcoming winter newsletter!
