Meet Our New Faculty
Erin Kaiser
Dr. Erin Kaiser will be joining the Department of Animal and Dairy Science at the University of Georgia as an Assistant Professor in Regenerative Bioscience Swine Research. Dr. Kaiser earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Dairy Science and her Doctorate in Neuroscience from the University of Georgia in 2013 and 2019, respectively, and is certified in grant writing. In 2020, she continued her research on neural injury and disease as a post-doctoral research associate.
Dr. Kaiser’s research agenda will focus on studying sex differences in stroke, traumatic brain injury, and vascular cognitive impairment pathophysiology. Her laboratory will utilize clinically relevant assessments including magnetic resonance imaging to evaluate tissue-level changes as well as gait and neurobehavioral tests to evaluate functional-level outcomes in response to novel therapies such as neural stem cells, extracellular vesicles, nanoparticles, and other proprietary pharmaceuticals. Dr. Kaiser has over eight years of experience in executing and managing preclinical studies and has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles and reviews in top journals in the field.
