Mary Kate Hollifield

 

Mary Kate Hollifield was recently awarded the National Swine Improvement Federation (NSIF) Lauren Christian Outstanding Graduate Student Award which is to recognize a graduate student conducting research in the area of swine genetics, meats, nutrition, or other disciplines that may have a swine genetic component. The award is given to encourage and reward the recipient for commitment to sound genetic principles and for the discovery of new concepts concerning genetic improvement.


Rachel Hankin

 

Rachel Hankin, a regenerative bioscience student in the Yao laboratory, recently received first place at the UGA Neuroscience Retreat for her oral presentation as well as student choice. Congratulations, Rachel!


Jennifer Richter and Mary Kate Hollifield

 

UGA Animal Breeding and Genetics group recently participated in the Plant and Animal Genome Conference in San Diego, California. At this event, doctoral students Jennifer Richter (left) and Mary Kate Hollifield (right) were awarded the Neal A. Jorgenson Genome Travel Award. Mary Kate won the swine species award, and Jennifer won the Poultry species. Congratulations to both!
