Dan and Nemah Daniel Scholarship


This year’s Dan Daniel Scholarship recipients are Paige Paschal and Katlyn Davis.

Paige is finishing up her second year at UGA. Her activities and awards include:

  • UGA Block and Bridle
  • UGA Young Farmers and Ranchers (Executive Committee)
  • UGA Mentor Program
  • High School FFA (Secretary, President)
  • National Honor Society
  • Student Council (Secretary)
  • Georgia FFA State Degree

Paige has been heavily involved in showing livestock and would ultimately like to pursue a degree in Animal Science with a minor in Business. She has been involved in numerous community service projects involving farm education and livestock show assistance. Paige is very interested in the field of animal health and would like to do research in the area of animal medicine. She would ultimately like to pursue a career as a veterinary pharmaceutical sales representative and eventually achieve a managerial role in this industry so that she can assist people in the livestock industry and share her passion for livestock health. Paige is off to a great start as she has recently accepted a summer internship position with Merck Animal Health.

Katlyn is also finishing up her second year at UGA. Her activities and awards include:

  • UGA Block and Bridle
  • UGA Young Farmers and Ranchers (Executive Committee)
  • UGA Cattlemen’s Association
  • FFA (State Secretary; Area 4 President, Vice President, and Junior Representative; Chapter Secretary, Vice President, and Reporter)
  • National Honor Society (Community Service Chair)

Katlyn served as a livestock mentor for her county as well as a volunteer at a local elementary school. She was a member of the Governor’s Honors Program, a Certificate of Merit recipient, and her high school salutatorian. She has also served as the Georgia FFA State Secretary while at UGA. She has worked both at the UGA Teaching Dairy as well as for Chick-fil-A as a team leader. Katelyn plans to attend vet school following graduation and become a food animal veterinarian.
