Georgia Beef Commission
This year’s Georgia Beef Commission Scholarship recipients are Clint Lee and John Levi Martin.
Clint is an Animal Science major and is finishing up his senior year at UGA. His activities and awards include:
- FFA (Chaplain, President)
- UGA Block and Bridle (Rodeo Co-Chairman, Rodeo Chairman)
- Governor’s Honor Nominee
- UGA Young Farmers and Ranchers
- UGA Meat Judging Team
Additionally, Clint received a Top 5 Senior Swine Showman award for three different years in high school as well as a Top 10 and High Individual award in his Area Livestock Judging Contest. He was an Honor Graduate and a Top 10 GPA recipient from his high school. He has volunteered in numerous community service projects and also works at the UGA Beef and Sheep Unit. Clint comes from a family farm in rural south Georgia. Following graduation, he would like to pursue an MS degree focusing on beef cattle and meat science. He would like to work in the meat and cattle industry either in an academic position or in the field as a representative or consultant.
Levi just completed his first year at UGA after transferring from Butler Community College. His activities and awards include:

In addition to serving as a national delegate for FFA, Levi held many officer positions including chapter president, sentinel, treasurer, and student advisor. While in high school, Levi was the Area III high individual at the 2019 Livestock Judging Contest, and while in college he was the 11th high individual at the Fall Upgrade Livestock Judging Contest. Levi has volunteered to assist with several livestock judging contests and clinics including the American Royal Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest. Levi’s grandfather is a farmer in south Georgia, and Levi grew up with a love for agriculture. He showed pigs and cattle for many years, and he wants to start his own show cattle operation. Levi plans to become a large animal veterinarian and remain involved in local agriculture programs.
