Rebecca and Louis J. Boyd Dairy Scholarship Fund

This year’s recipient of the Rebecca and Louis J. Boyd Scholarship is Jorja Cooper. Jorja is completing her senior year at UGA in the Animal and Dairy Science department.  Her activities and awards include:

• UGA Dairy Science Club (Secretary, Commercial Dairy Heifer Show Chair)
• Sigma Alpha Agriculture Professional Sorority (Fundraising Chair, Ag Awareness committee)
• UGA Deans List
• American FFA Degree recipient
• Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation (Vice President, Event Chairperson)

Additionally, Jorja was very active in youth dairy programs in high school. She was on a dairy show team as well as being president of her FFA chapter. She was also on her high school’s Student Leadership Council.  She has volunteered in numerous community service projects. She is Beef Quality Assurance certified, and she has worked for Hunter Farms, the UGA Meat Science and Technology Center, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Following her upcoming graduation, she plans to work as a business associate for a dairy farm in South Carolina, managing the business at the farm as well as working for their cattle genetics consulting company.
