Mark A. Lea Memorial Scholarship

This year’s Mark Lea Memorial Scholarship recipient is Mallory Sterling.  Mallory Sterling is finishing up her second year at UGA as an Animal Science major.  Her activities and awards include:

• UGA Block and Bridle
• Great Southland Stampede Rodeo Ticket Chairman
• UGA Pre-Vet Club
• High school Salutatorian
• FFA
• Livestock Judging CDE

Mallory has garnered numerous academic awards during her high school career including being a 2019 Junior Fellow, a member of the National Honor Society, a Georgia Certificate of Merit, and a Certificate of Academic Achievement. She has worked at the UGA Vet Teaching Hospital in addition to working as a waitress. Mallory wants to become a large animal veterinarian specializing in food animals.  She would like to return to her hometown or somewhere similar in rural Georgia where agriculture producers need veterinarians.
